Aruba Confirms Marketing Executive Changes

"The opportunity arose for me to move into a newly created position as head of strategic partnerships, which is involved in further developing Aruba's ecosystem of partners," said Tennefoss in a CRN interview Friday. "I like working hands on with key partners, exploring how our technology can be used with their systems."

Tennefoss' new position won't mean working with channel partners so much as managing Aruba's strategic relationships with vendors such as Dell, and also Azalea Networks, the outdoor wireless mesh specialist whose acquisition Aruba is expected to close within the next few weeks.

"My role is specifically with technology partners," Tennefoss said. "It'll be related to things like [Dell] and also to emerging markets, smart grid, things like that that are considered strategic."

Taking up some of Tennefoss' marketing and brand awareness duties at Aruba will be Wilson Craig, who joined Aruba two weeks ago from his previous role as director of public relations and social media for Brocade. Craig, who will be Aruba's director of corporate communications, held previous positions at Cisco and before that, Packeteer.

Aruba "is a strong second to Cisco with lots of mindshare and technology leadership," Craig said. "There's a lot of good work that's been done to date and a lot that will be done to create a clearer and, I think in some cases, more targeted message."
