Cisco Revises Certifications For Voice, Security
Cisco on Tuesday confirmed changes to its portfolio of Voice certifications, as well as its professional-level Security certification.
Among the changes are that the CCVP certification is now called the Cisco CCNP Voice certification, and the training has been updated to include Cisco's broader portfolio of UC and collaboration technologies. Not only is it inclusive of voice infrastructure, in other words, but it also now offers integration and voice capabilities specific to Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Unified Presence and other collaboration tools.
The CCNP Voice certification has new courses, too: a Cisco Unified Communications Applications (CAPPS) 8.0 course with 642-467 CAPPS exam, and course called Introducing Cisco Voice and Unified Communications Administration (ICOMM) 8.0 with a 640-461 ICOMM exam.
On the security side is the CCNP Security program, an updated version of Cisco's existing CCSP program. It includes a new curriculum comprising four different exams in network security, and the coursework covers Cisco IOS security features built into routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs and other Cisco network security products.
"As the job roles of network professionals continue to evolve with changing business requirements, it is critical that we continuously update and refine our educational offerings to ensure Cisco certified individuals have the most comprehensive understanding of the latest technologies," said Jeanne Beliveau-Dunn, vice president and general manager of Learning@Cisco, in a statement.
