Motorola Solutions Shuffles Channel Management

Effective immediately, Juliann Larimer is Motorola's new vice president, global channels. Larimer, who joined Motorola earlier this year following a stint as vice president, North America channels at NCR, was most recently Motorola Solutions' vice president, Global Channel Strategy, Programs and Governance. She was named to CRN's Power 100: The Most Powerful Women of the Channel list this year.

A Motorola Solutions spokesman said that Larimer was an ideal choice to take over the role given her work finalizing the rollout of Motorola's PartnerEmpower solution provider program over the past six months, and also her experience with global channel programs.

"In her new role, Juliann will be able to leverage her extensive channel experience working with similar global partner programs for IBM, NCR and Zebra in ensuring the successful rollout of PartnerEmpowr around the world and evolving the program to meet changing market needs," the spokesman told CRN.

Mark Kroh, who had Larimer's role as vice president, global channels, is now Motorola Solutions' vice president, North America channels. The Motorola Solutions spokesman confirmed to CRN that Kroh's role in North America will also include Motorola Solutions' carrier partnerships and its Integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN) mobility offering.

"The combination of Mark's background as the chief architect of the PartnerEmpower framework and his long-time sales leadership experience make him the perfect candidate to ensure the successful implementation of PartnerEmpower in our biggest market: North America," the spokesman said. (North America accounts for 59 percent of total Motorola Solutions sales with direct and indirect sales taken into account.)

Mike DeVente, most recently vice president, North America channels, will now be the lead executive on the Mobile Solutions (Enterprise) track in Motorola Solutions' PartnerEmpower channel program, Motorola Solutions confirmed.

Motorola Solutions partners consider the PartnerEmpower program an encouraging sign of increasingly tighter channel focus by Motorola Solutions since it split off from Motorola Mobility in January 2011. The spokesman said there would be no changes to the PartnerEmpower program itself, despite the executive moves.
