Verizon Restores Third Data Outage This Month

the third service disruption to affect Verizon Wireless customers

Verizon confirmed Thursday morning via its official Twitter handle, @VZWnews, that it had resolved the issue. 3G, calling and texting were unaffected by the outage, the company said.

Like the previous two data outage, on Dec. 7 and Dec. 21, not all Verizon Wireless users were affected, but customers from coast to coast flocked to Verizon’s online support forum to report data network issues.

An earlier, nationwide data outage in April was caused by a software bug in Verizon's IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture.

Verizon, which has been rolling out its 4G LTE network ahead of schedule, hasn’t given an explanation for the three most recent service disruptions.
