Vidyo Adds Chief Financial Officer

New CFO David Kaminsky was most recently executive vice president and CFO of $1.2 billion integrator NTT Data Americas, which acquired Keane, where he'd previously been CFO, as part of a series of channel mergers that also included solution providers Intelligroup, MISI, Revere Group, AgileNet and Vertex. Earlier in his career, Kaminsky had CFO and other finance-related roles at federal government integrator Altegrity and GE Capital.

Vidyo hasn't said much about its financial growth, but in a statement announcing Kaminsky's hire said it completed a record 2011 with an 82 percent increase in billings, and a 90 percent year-over-year increase in billings for Vidyo-branded products in the first quarter of 2012 compared to the first quarter of 2011.

The company has won raves for its use of Adaptive Video Layering (AVL) technology to optimize video quality for each participant, with only the Internet and general data networks needed for connectivity. Among recent Vidyo moves were the addition of a virtualized version of its video infrastructure, and the launch of a white-label program for partner delivery of Vidyo's multipoint videoconferencing services.

In a statement, Vidyo CEO Ofer Shapiro -- who's told news outlets he hopes Vidyo will IPO before 2015 -- said Kaminsky was joining Vidyo at an important time for the company.

"We are delighted to welcome a seasoned financial leader with experience managing companies with billions of dollars in revenues," Shapiro said. "David's demonstrated track record in overseeing unified communications, collaboration, mobile and telecom companies will be a tremendous asset to Vidyo."

Based in Hackensack, N.J., Vidyo has closed about $97 million in venture capital funding since its 2005 founding, and its investors include QuestMark Partners, Menlo Ventures, Rho Ventures, Star Ventures, Four Rivers Group and Juniper Networks. In addition to VAR and service provider channels, the company has OEM agreements with vendors including Google, Hitachi, FuzeBox and Ricoh.

Kaminsky is the latest in a series of key hires for Vidyo. Earlier in July, it named Amir Shaked, a former ComQi channel chief and former executive at Press-sense, Accord and Comverse, its senior vice president of product management. Over the past 18 months, the company brought on well-known video unified communications executives like Ashish Gupta, now its chief marketing officer and senior vice president, corporate development, and Jim Fairweather, now its vice president, worldwide channels.
