Comcast's CTO Has Left The Company, No Replacement Named

Comcast's leading technologist Sree Kotay is no longer with the cable giant after a 10-year stint.

Comcast has confirmed that Kotay, CTO and executive vice president, has left the company for personal reasons, a spokesperson told CRN. Multichannel News was first to report on Kotay's departure.

Kotay was promoted to CTO in May to succeed Tony Werner who became President of Technology and Product for Comcast, according to a release.

Kotay oversaw engineering and operations for Comcast's customer-facing products and services, according to his bio. He also oversees the company's Comcast Innovation Labs as well as security and software practices across all product development.

Comcast declined to say who would replace Kotay.

Kotay played a significant role in creating Comcast's X1 video platform as well as its new voice services over his tenure. Before Comcast, he served as AOL's senior vice president of technology.

Last week, Comcast unveiled the details around its highly anticipated wireless service, Xfinity Mobile.
