Lumen Technologies has forged a partnership with partner relationship management software provider PartnerTap to help its partner community identify more opportunities and grow their sales quickly.

The relationship, according to the two companies, will help the telecom giant grow its sales through its channel partner community using data automation powered by machine learning so that partners can more easily match customer needs with Lumen’s portfolio of services, including its strategic networking services.

“We see the connection between more collaboration and faster growth, so we’re pulling back the curtain to make it easier for partners and customers to do business with us. It’s all part of an aggressive simplification strategy as we align with our customers’ needs,” Sara Seegers, national vice president for Lumen’s indirect partner channel, said in a statement on the new partnership. “With PartnerTap, we are collaborating to clear a mutual path to growth for Lumen, our co-sellers, and our customers.”

Seattle-based PartnerTap offers a software-based discovery platform for partner revenue. The PartnerTap platform gives partners and sales teams the ability to automate account mapping, share partner pipeline in real-time, identify brand-new sales opportunities, and scale co-selling efforts with partners, according to PartnerTap.

PartnerTap also works with the likes of telecom service broker Avant to boost sales by aligning agent partners with strategic vendors and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, which uses the PartnerTap platform to discover more paths for partner revenue, according to the company.

Monroe, La.-based Lumen launched the new program with PartnerTap this week within its indirect channel partner community. With the new relationship, Lumen solution providers can securely share data on PartnerTap. Partners can then “swipe right” and opt-in to see data matches between Lumen solutions and customer’s needs. This real-time visibility into the matches will help Lumen partners shorten the sales cycle and more quickly deliver solutions to customers, according to the two companies.

The carrier has plans to expand access across its enterprise sales team and with strategic partners, according to Lumen.

“Lumen is leading the telecom industry into the future of sales,” Cassandra Gholston, CEO of PartnerTap, said in a statement on the new relationship. “It’s been thrilling to see their partners’ excitement and how much new pipeline there is for everyone to go after.”

Lumen as of late has been focused on growing its strategic services portfolio with the help of partners that includes services like Secure Access Service Edge (SASE). Demand for these “network-adjacent” services that are being enabled by the service provider’s core network assets is on the rise, Seegers, Lumen’s channel chief, told CRN earlier this month.
