In addition to rolling out 5G in five new cities, bringing the total to 47 U.S. cities, Verizon is giving new 5G customers access to its new BlueJeans videoconferencing service, as well as its mobile communications solution for small business customers, Verizon One Talk, at no additional charge.

Verizon has expanded its 5G business internet to five new cities. The carrier is also sweetening the pot by giving new 5G customers access to the carrier’s videoconferencing service courtesy of recently acquired BlueJeans, as well as one line of its mobile communications offering for small business customers, Verizon One Talk, for free.

Verizon’s 5G ultra wideband service is now live in parts of 47 cities, according to Basking Ridge, N.J.-based Verizon.

The carrier said it will continue to roll 5G business internet out into new cities as it readies deployment of its recently acquired C-Band assets, which Verizon believes will be critical to the amplification of 5G fixed wireless access.

Verizon’s 5G Business internet offering is now available in parts of Gresham, Oregon; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Austin, Texas; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Nashville, Tennessee, in addition to the previously-announced 42 cities.

“The expansion of 5G business internet is ahead of schedule, and we will continue to add availability in new cities throughout the year, but this is just the start. The upcoming deployment of our new spectrum assets will be a major catalyst for 5G fixed-wireless growth,” Sampath Sowmyanarayan, Verizon Business’ chief revenue officer said in a statement.

Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg in July said that the company was heavily-focused on expanding and amplifying its 5G mmWave network in new and existing markets, as well as densifying its 4G LTE wireless network to manage future traffic demands and the continued deployment of the company’s fiber infrastructure. While the carrier’s SMB and enterprise segments struggled during the COVID-19 pandemic, Verizon Business started to bounce back in Q2 2021 as customers are taking advantage of advanced communication offerings and enterprise 5G, the company’s executives told investors in July.

Verizon in May closed its acquisition of BlueJeans Network for an undisclosed sum. The carrier is working to integrate BlueJeans’ scalable and encrypted videoconferencing and event products into its portfolio of Advanced Communications solutions as Verizon targets the enterprise segment.

Introduced in 2016, Verizon One Talk is an integrated wireline and wireless voice service that has been available through Verizon’s channel partners.

The carrier said that its previously-announced offers still stand: Eligible new 5G customers that are making the switch to Verizon can receive a credit of up to $1,500 to offset early termination fees from their current provider. Offerings include 100, 200, and 400 Mbps plans for both enterprise and SMBs, with no data limits. Verizon is also offering a 10-year price lock for new customers with no long-term contract required, according to the carrier.

Verizon in June also unveiled what it referred to as the first commercially available private 5G network in the U.S. for enterprise businesses and the public sector — On Site 5G. This offering brings secure 5G networks to enterprise campuses, industrial and manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and other premises, even where public 5G Ultra Wideband coverage is not available, the company said.
