HPE Discover 2019: Here’s What You Missed

HPE CEO Antonio Neri pledged to make its entire portfolio as-a-service come 2022.

HPE’s annual Discover conference took place this week in Las Vegas, where CEO Antonio Neri and his team unleashed new innovation in storage, edge and cloud computing that they say has them leading from the top.

Everything-as-a-Service

CEO Antonio Neri pledged to make HPE’s entire product portfolio as-a-service come 2022. The all-out GreenLake as-a-service sales offensive is aimed at taking the GreenLake model from hundreds of partners to thousands of partners. The first phase of the sales blitz is a version of GreenLake for the midmarket and a new Network as-a-service version of GreenLake from Aruba.

HPE Primera

HPE Primera is the new “mission-critical” storage solution that uses the company’s InfoSight-based artificial intelligence platform to increase the performance of applications. Executives say the platform can manage itself and be able to predict and prevent issues beyond the wall of storage. Customers and channel partners will be able to start placing orders for HPE Primera in August, with shipments expected to start after then.

The Channel to Edge Institute

HPE has committed $4 billion to the edge. Part of that investment is a new program for partners: The Channel to Edge Institute. The CEI will educate partners on the real-world intelligent edge, Internet of Things and operational technology (OT) solution scenarios with concrete examples of the return on investment for the customer and profitability for partners. It will include use cases, business cases, and go-to-market sales and marketing training, including first-hand accounts from top customers.
