Zoom Phone Will Be Promoted Through Resellers Via New Partner Program

Currently in beta, the reseller program for Zoom Phone Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC) will push Zoom Phone through the reseller partner community, the company announced at Zoomtopia Partner Connect 2021.

Zoom Video Communications partners will have the opportunity to sell Zoom Phone Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC) licenses via a brand-new partner program geared toward the reseller community.

Zoom Phone, a cloud-based voice offering introduced in 2019, has seen success through the master and sub agent channel. Now, the company wants resellers to tap into the increasingly-profitable voice market.

The reseller program for Zoom Phone BYOC lets enterprise customers keep their current PSTN service providers by redirecting existing voice circuits to the Zoom Phone cloud, or implement a hybrid solution with Zoom Calling Plans, the company announced at Zoomtopia Partner Connect 2021 on Wednesday.

Currently a pilot program for select partners, the reseller program for Zoom Phone BYOC is expected to be open to more resellers by the end of the year, according to the company.

By keeping their current PSTN service providers, customers can take advantage of the benefits of Zoom Phone while keeping their existing service provider contracts, phone numbers, and calling rates with their preferred carrier of record, Zoom said of the new program.

Laura Padilla, head of global BD and Channel for Zoom, called the program a “new opportunity” for resellers. “We’ve seen a lot of success in selling Zoom Phone, reaching two million seats in just 10 quarters … Zoom Phone BYOC provides customers with the flexibility to stay on their current carrier or easily use a combination to best meet their geographic reach and service needs,” she said in a statement.

Zoom Founder and CEO Eric Yuan at Zoomtopia 2021 called Zoom Phone the “fastest-growing product of its time,” having reached one million seats in its first seven quarters on the market.

Zoom in March 2020 launched its first-ever referral partner program with a handful of master agents, including Avant Communications, Intelisys, Telarus and Pax8. One of the goals of the program at the time was to work with more partners in order to sell Zoom’s voice offerings.

Zoom Video Communications’ cloud-based voice service is now available in 40 countries and territories across the globe, compared to 25 countries last year.

The San Jose, Calif.-based company‘s channel is now contributing more than 20 percent to its non-online bookings globally, and nearly 30 percent internationally. Zoom partners are responsible for more than 25 percent of Zoom Phone sales globally, Zoom told CRN.
