Google Partners Collaborate On Providing Google Job Opportunities

“This is great for Google, great for partners, and great for job candidates. If someone loves Google technology--and remember, less than 1 percent of applicants get hired by Google--they have another place to go. No one else--not Microsoft, not Oracle, not Salesforce, not any other ecosystem--works to support the partner ecosystem like Google Cloud,” says SADA CEO Tony Safoian (pictured).

SADA, one of Google’s largest channel partners, is partnering with Appsbroker, a large Google MSP, to develop a platform for Google channel partners to connect with potential employees.

Los Angeles-based SADA and U.K.-based Appsbroker have developed a new job board called Partnercareers.com as a way for solution providers around the world to post Google-focused job offerings, said SADA CEO Tony Safoian.

While the development of Partnercareers.com stemmed in general from the difficulties solution providers have in finding enough top-notch employees, the start of the project was a meeting between Google and some of its partner council members where Google asked what those partners saw as the biggest limiting factors to their growth, Safoian told CRN.

“We told Google it was talent,” he said. “There is a lot of talent on the Azure and Amazon Web Services side. We thought it would be cool to bring the Google Cloud partner community together to give access to and keep top talent within our ecosystem. Google will help with visibility of the job board via its Partner Advantage portal to give partners additional details. Candidates looking for opportunities within the Google Cloud ecosystem can view open job listings on Partnercareers.com from top partners, all in one place.“

A Google spokesperson told CRN via email that the company is excited about this new initiative from its partners.

SADA and Appsbroker collaborated on developing Partnercareers.com and on reaching out to Google channel partner around the world to post Google-focused job openings, Safoian said.

Google will help with the visibility of the job board via its Partner Advantage portal, he said.

Safoian said Nina Harding, global chief of partner strategy and programs at Google, was a big help in the project.

“We talked with Microsoft and others about this, but no one else has done this,” he said. “It’s hard. I have to hand it to Nina Harding. She really pushed hard on this.”

Partnercareers.com reached out to Google channel partners and found interest in the site in about 200 of them, Safoian said. About 20 will have job postings when the site launches Tuesday, he said. Openings include data engineers, business intelligence developers, Looker platform developers, data analysts, tech writers, Google Workspace developers, senior analysts, and sales, marketing, and back office people, he said.

“This is great for Google, great for partners, and great for job candidates,” he said. “If someone loves Google technology--and remember less than 1 percent of applicants get hired by Google--they have another place to go. No one else--not Microsoft, not Oracle, not Salesforce, not any other ecosystem--works to support the partner ecosystem like Google Cloud. And no partners in any other ecosystem has gotten together to build a site like this.”
