West Corp Rebrands As Intrado, Reorganizes Operations

West Corp, a top provider of telecom services for a wide range of industries, wants to be known as Intrado going forward as it reorganizes its business into four strategic areas.

Telecom services provider West Corp is rebranding itself as Intrado, calling it a way to better reflect its vision for the future.

West Corp, No. 29 on the CRN 2019 Solution Provider 500 list, also used the rebranding as an opportunity to reorganize its operating segments into four areas, the company said.

The first is around life and safety, with products supporting public safety including carrier services, next-generation 9-1-1, government solutions, and advanced services, along with technology from its September acquisition of Flowroute, which offers a offers a cloud-based communications platform that enables communication service providers, value-added resellers, and enterprises to quickly and easily migrate premises-based communication systems to voice over internet protocol (VoIP).

The second is centered on enterprise collaboration, which includes UCaas and cloud collaboration business.

The third is centered on digital media, including public relations and digital media technology it purchased in April from Nasdaq; the state-of-the-art streaming platform West got with its September acquisition of INXPO; the cloud-enabled media, monitoring, and measurement tools from its recently-acquired Notified business; and the cloud-based relationship marketing platform it received from its October acquisition of Ambassador.

The fourth, health and wellness -- which West Corp previously called specialized agent services -- is centered on the Health Advocate platform for simplifying and personalizing customers' healthcare experience, and Claims Recovery for helping healthcare organizations improve cash flow and claims payment accuracy.

West Corp spokespeople were not available to provide more information to CRN, including when the rebranding will take place or the reason for the name "Intrado."

However, Intrado CEO and President John Shlonsky said in a prepared statement that the Omaha, Neb.-based company's technology is aimed at simplifying and transforming information to help clients reach better decisions.

"Whether we are streaming a live conference, coordinating an internal company meeting for thousands of global employees, developing eye-opening productivity analytics or alerting emergency responders for help that’s needed, our technology turns information to insight," Shlonsky said in that statement.

In 2017, private equity titan Apollo Global Management spent a reported $2 billion to buy West Corp, now a subsidiary of Apollo.
