“[McAfee is] investing heavily in products for SMB,” Samenuk said during the conference call. “In the third quarter, we plan to introduce a new low-end secure content management solution that will combine anti-virus, anti-spam, anti-spyware and URL filtering into an inexpensive, easy-to-use appliance,” he said.

The Santa Clara, Calif-based company this quarter also plans to upgrade its Managed Mail service, part of McAfee&'s suite of desktop, server and gateway security services for SMB customers, he said.

During the second quarter, McAfee grew SMB bookings by 16 percent year-over-year, while its large enterprise business grew 7 percent. McAfee&'s consumer business, which accounted for nearly half of its revenue, grew 69 percent compared with the same quarter a year ago, he said.
