NetBotz Adds New Surveillance Device To Lineup

Other WallBotz 500 features include WLAN support, audio-over-IP capability and SSL connectivity. "We improved the processing capability so everything is fully SSL encrypted, Medford said.

NetBotz also plans to introduce NetBotz Central 2.0 Enterprise Edition, a new version of its system for centrally managing multiple NetBotz appliances. The upgrade features increased storage capacity to 1.2 Tbytes, dual hot-swap power supplies and improved scalability, Medford said.

Nelson Pontillo, director at American Systems, said the Chantilly, Va.-based solution provider has deployed NetBotz's technology for the U.S. Transportation Security Agency and several commercial customers. By upgrading WallBotz's surveillance features, NetBotz can expand its market penetration, he said.

"Customers are looking for a higher-quality video image," Pontillo said.

NetBotz sells exclusively through the channel and counts about 50 solution provider partners in North America, said Peter Poulin, vice president of business development at the company. NetBotz's technology bridges the gap between traditional physical security and IT security, he said.

The WallBotz 500 costs $2,699, the cameras cost $499 each and the sensor pods cost $249. NetBotz Central 2.0 Enterprise Edition is priced at $19,999. Both products are slated to ship next month.
