RSA Teams With Thor For Provisioning

Through the partnership, RSA will bundle ClearTrust with New York-based Thor's Xellerate provisioning software, said Jason Lewis, director of product management at RSA, based here.

The bundle will give ClearTrust customers the ability to take advantage of Xellerate's user self-service and workflow capabilities, he said. The bundled solution is slated to be available in the third quarter.

The addition of provisioning allows RSA to offer a complete identity management solution, Lewis said. RSA already offers authentication and access management.

Provisioning is important to customers because it reduces administrative costs by automating the process of setting up appropriate employee accounts for various applications and systems, he said. It boosts productivity by reducing the amount of time employees have to wait for access and enhances security by automatically removing the access when an employee leaves the company, he added.

The alliance also includes technical integration, joint marketing and sales activities plus joint technical planning.
