Symantec Unveils Vendor Alliance Program
The Symantec Technology Partner Program provides integration tools, development support, joint sales and marketing resources, and product certification to help vendor partners integrate their products with Symantec's products and its Enterprise Security Architecture.
"We're really taking a step now to boost our abilities to partner more efficiently and with more people," said Stephane de Saint Albin, group manager of business development at Symantec, based here.
Symantec launched its Enterprise Security Architecture last fall. The architecture provides a framework for the Symantec Security Management System, which aims to provide enterprise customers with a comprehensive view of their security environment and also give them centralized management capabilities.
"Customers have a pain point from having too many security devices, too much security data that they cannot really manage in a centralized and meaningful manner," said de Saint Albin. "That's the promise of our security management strategy--to bring all that [security data] together and make it useful."
Entercept Security Technologies, a provider of host-based intrusion-prevention software, and Web security appliance supplier Blue Coat Systems are already partners in the new program. Other early partners are Clearswift and Network Appliance.
