Apache Patches Denial-Of-Service Security Hole

The upgrade, Apache 2.0.45, is designed to patch a "significant" hole on all platforms that could lead to a denial-of-service attack.

The organizations did not disclose details of the upgrade, saying the discoverer, David Endler of the security firm iDefense, will reveal more information a week on April 8.

The upgrade also fixes many bugs. "We consider this release to be the best version of Apache available and encourage users of all prior versions to upgrade," the organization said in an advisory, which also contains links to the patches.
