CipherTrust Secures E-Mail

IronMail Secure Delivery supports a variety of encryption standards and allows companies to manage encrypted mail through policies enforced at the gateway, said Matt Anthony, director of marketing at CipherTrust, Atlanta.

With Secure Delivery, IronMail now supports server-side PGP and S/MIME, in addition to SSL/TLS.

The device also supports secure Web delivery if a recipient's mail server doesn't support other encryption methods, Anthony said. In that case, IronMail sends the recipient an e-mail containing a unique URL that, when clicked on, will launch a secure browser session to open the contents of the message.

Customers can implement an array of policies through IronMail's Policy Manager to ensure that confidential data is encrypted when sent outside the organization, Anthony said. For example, an administrator could set a policy to encrypt

a message if it contains keywords such as a project code name. Administrators also can block unauthorized encrypted messages.

Rick Basich, president of National Business Group, an Atlanta-based network integration firm, said his company has had a lot of success selling IronMail, primarily for its antispam capabilities, and sees a need for Secure Delivery.

"This secure messaging technology looks like it's going to be pretty strong," he said. "There's some momentum starting to build with companies wanting this technology."

Secure Delivery is available with the purchase of an Iron Mail license key starting at $20,000.
