Network Associates Targets Spyware
AntiSpyware detects adware, spyware and key logging programs as they attempt to install and then blocks the installation. It also includes tools to manually scan for already-in-place spyware -- the traditional way that antispyware utilities work -- and others to completely cleanse a system of all traces of a spyware program.
Unlike competitor Symantec, which last fall added antispyware tools to its Norton AntiVirus 2004, Network Associates' McAfee AntiSpyware is a separate package that costs $39.95.
Available now, AntiSpyware runs on Windows 98, Millennium, 2000 and XP.
