Infoblox Launches RADIUS One Appliance

The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based network security vendor earlier this week released RADIUS One, a plug-and-play device that combines traditional provisioning functions with identity management for remote users.

Dan O'Farrell, senior director of marketing at Infoblox, said RADIUS One is now available to channel partners. The product carries a retail price of $12,000.

"Managing user identities is as essential to today's network managers as it is a core consideration for a secure network," O'Farrell said. "As the number of IP-addressable devices continues to increase, the need to manage and secure user authentication in the network will only continue to grow."

RADIUS One supports a variety of network authentication applications, including wired and wireless 802.11x implementations, VPN user authentication and firewall administration, O'Farrell said. The fully secure, closed system enables network managers to control access to configuration tools, and it leaves no unnecessary ports available, he said. The appliance also includes a GUI to simplify installation, operation and management.

RADIUS One is designed to work with Infoblox's flagship DNS ONE appliance, which was aimed at easing the application of DNS and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DNCP) in the network. Infoblox also offers LDAP One, an all-in-one server appliance for LDAP.
