MagniFire Updates Web Infrastructure Security Product

The New York-based Web application firewall vendor said the new version, TrafficShield 2.5, is expected to be available through MagniFire's sales channel by the end of this week. The upgrade was unveiled in mid-February at the DEMO 2004 conference in Scottsdale, Ariz.

"Our customers want a comprehensive solution for their Web infrastructure security needs all in one appliance," said MagniFire CEO Eitan Bauch. "[Ours] is the only solution capable of mapping Web applications to create a complete picture of all possible entry points and close them off."

TrafficShield 2.5 includes new setup wizards that let Webmasters install, configure and maintain the appliance through a simple, GUI-based platform. The updated product also incorporates improved firewall protection, the ability to operate in several security modes, and the option to offload encryption and decryption using specialized hardware sold separately.

In addition, TrafficShield 2.5 cloaks server and operating-system information and has IP and port-address filtering and HTTP protocol-validation functions, MagniFire said.
