Show Preview: RFID World 2007

Hosted by CMP Technology, CRN's parent organization, RFID World 2007 will be held at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Tex., next Tuesday and Wednesday, March 27 and 28.

"This show is bigger and better than last year's," said Bill Allen, group director of RFID at CMP Technology. "It's the one place where the entire RFID industry from suppliers to adopters and everybody in between can come on an annual basis to talk technology solutions and applications."

Keynote speakers on Tuesday will be Best Buy CEO Robert Willett and ThingMagic vice president Kevin Ashton. Willett will speak about RFID and the retail experience, while Ashton will explore innovations in RFID, joined by ThingMagic CTO Yael Maguire. Wednesday's keynote on RFID, factory automation and global logistics will be given by Anton S. Huber, group vice president of Siemens Automation and Drives group.

In addition to the sessions and roundtable discussions, on Monday before the show officially kicks off, Bluestar will host a day of educational sessions for resellers aimed at exploring the RFID opportunity for the channel. Bluestar is an auto-ID, point of sale and RFID specialty distributor.
