Citrix Buys Assets Of NAC Startup Caymas

A "small but core team" from Caymas will be joining Citrix's Application Networking Group, according to Sanjay Uppal, Caymas' president and CEO, who will take over as vice president of marketing of the Citrix group.

Citrix will not continue to develop or provide support for the Caymas product line, Uppal said.

Caymas' NAC appliances include SSL and IPSec VPN and weave in elements of identity and network security policy information, enabling companies to regulate access based on the type of user, device, location and client configuration.

San Jose, Calif.-based Caymas had been winding down its operations and looking for a buyer for several months, and in March laid off about 20 employees and closed its offices in Petaluma, Calif.
