Snyk Hires Veeam Veteran Danny Allan As CTO
The developer security platform vendor announced the hire of Allan a week after his departure as CTO of Veeam.
Snyk announced Tuesday it has hired former Veeam CTO Danny Allan as its new chief technology officer amid reports the company could seek to go public as soon as this year.
The developer security platform vendor announced the hire of Allan a week after his departure from data protection and management firm Veeam, where he’d spent seven years.

In a blog post, Snyk CEO Peter McKay called Allan a “technology visionary” with two decades in the industry.
Allan joins Snyk after “solving a plethora of customer challenges” at companies including VMWare and IBM, in addition to Veeam, McKay said.
“He’s especially known for his strategic product roadmaps and his contributions to security research,” McKay wrote.
Snyk’s former CTO, Adi Sharabani, had departed the position in June 2023, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Snyk also announced a second hire Tuesday, with the company naming Brian Rogan to be its new executive vice president of engineering. Rogan had previously spent 17 years at Google, most recently as vice president of engineering.
At Google, Rogan “spearheaded many successful initiatives, including the development of important internal tools for infrastructure and network automation,” McKay said in the post.
The hires come after a late January report from The Information indicated that Snyk’s IPO prospectus for investors could be filed with regulators within several months. Snyk said in a statement that it “never comments on market speculation or rumors.”
Snyk ranks among the top-valued cybersecurity unicorns with a valuation of $7.4 billion as of a late 2022 funding round.
