XBS U.S. “experienced a security incident which was detected and contained by Xerox cybersecurity personnel,” Xerox said in the statement.

The Xerox statement indicated that “limited personal information in the XBS environment may have been affected,” but did not include further specifics.

In response to an inquiry from CRN about whether there have been any updates, and whether partner or customer data was impacted in the XBS U.S. incident, a spokesperson said Tuesday that Xerox is not providing further details at this point.

According to a BleepingComputer report, the INC Ransom cybercriminal gang claimed Xerox as a victim on its darkweb site on Dec. 29.

In its Dec. 30 statement, Xerox said the breach “had no impact on Xerox’s corporate systems, operations or data, and no effect on XBS operations.” The company said it planned to notify any affected individuals.
