SolarWinds To Acquire TriGeo For $35 Million

The deal is expected to close in the third quarter and brings to SolarWinds the opportunity to add log and event management software to its network and systems management portfolio, according to Kevin Thompson, SolarWinds president and CEO.

"We're also excited to expand into another highly complementary branch of IT management that we believe is ripe for our disruptive go-to-market model," Thompson said in a statement.

Following the close of the acquisition, TriGeo's solution will be known as SolarWinds Log and Event Manager, which will allow IT organizations to collect data from virtually any device on the network and correlate that data in real-time for greater visibility, security and control, according to SolarWinds, which was named this month by CRN as a Virtualization Vendor to Watch.

"Like SolarWinds, TriGeo has built a reputation for providing products that are powerful and easy to use," said Thompson in the statement. "We look forward to welcoming the TriGeo team into the SolarWinds family and working together to fully integrate these log and event management solutions into the SolarWinds model, making them easier to access and easier to afford for companies of any size."
