Symantec Channel Chief Cochran Resigns

Cochran is leaving on March 31 to "pursue other opportunities" and is being replaced with John Eldh, who has been a sales executive with Symantec for more than seven years and most recently served as vice president of sales for the company's cloud products.

Eldh, slated to take over Cochran's role on April 1, will be responsible for Symantec's enterprise channel strategy as well as the vendor's partner programs across all market segments, according to the letter.

"Under [Eldh]'s leadership in FY13, we will put a relentless focus on driving growth in the Americas by leveraging the strength of our partner ecosystem," Rich Spring, senior vice president of Americas sales, said in the letter. "Symantec continues to be a channel-led company, with the majority of our business flowing through you — our partners."

Spring described Eldh in the letter as "an accomplished leader with more than 20 years of sales executive experience" and credited him with driving the Mountain View, Calif.-based vendor's America go-to-market cloud strategy and building a partner distribution team for the vendor's cloud services.

"I'd like to thank Randy for his eight years of leadership in Symantec's channel organization and wish him the best in the next phase of his career," Spring said.

The company declined further comment.
