Zyxel's New Surveillance Cameras Offer Advanced Features For SMB, SOHO
The series, which will be sold through the Anaheim, Calif.-based company's network of channel partners, includes features such as Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), vandal-proof housings, motorized zoom and focus and pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ).
"This is all about bringing the higher-end features into SMB and SoHo, said Steven Joe, Zyxel's executive vice president of American channels. "If you link this with our firewalls and other products, you are bringing together a very powerful proposition."
The IPC1905 is a PoE-enabled bullet camera that includes night vision capabilities and is designed for both indoor and outdoor fixed surveillance solutions. The company also launched a PoE version of its IPC4605N cloud-based camera, making it more suitable to business installations requiring PTZ monitoring. The new version, known as the IPC4605P, includes a dome housing for additional protection.

The PIC4100 series cameras support ONVIF, which is the global industry standard that enables new cameras to be quickly and easily added to existing surveillance systems.
The new cameras are available in four different form factors, including bullet cams, mini-domes, normal domes and Pan-Tilt-Zoom dome cameras.
Key features include 3-D noise reduction technology to support clear images in low-light environments, Smart Picture Detection to provide higher clarity, consistency, and fidelity, infrared motion detection, 2M CMOS or 5M CMOS image sensors, and indoor or outdoor IP-66 rated enclosures. Other specifications include 20x zoom, 1080p video, and auto-tracking.
"When you're focused on the channel you really here what your customers are saying, and it allows you to really customize," said Joe. "By being able to do both the camera and the infrastructure, we are bringing a lot of expertise to the table.
Zyxel is pursuing channel partners in a variety of vertical and horizontal markets, including security and hospitality, but Joe added that the company is also working with carrier partners to pull together comprehensive business solutions. "Today's channel partner is looking to expand and find ways to build a better end to end solution," he said. "Based on our expertise and our firewall background, we are one of the few companies that can bring together that in one solution."
