Oblix Powers Up COREid Identity Security Suite

The provisioning tools now shipping in Oblix's COREid version 7 software give administrators the power to create, update or delete user accounts, passwords and other identity information across a range of systems, applications, directories and databases. COREid also offers full support for Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS).

With version 7, Oblix is targeting the growing market for compliance-enabling technology by providing companies with increased governance over user activities, said Rick Caccia, director of product management at Oblix, Cupertino, Calif.

"This upgrade is the direct result of feedback from our customers and partners who have traditionally used Oblix to apply security policy," Caccia said. "But with all these new regulations, it's become just as important to show that you are actually enforcing that policy, so we added in compliance reporting."

COREid 7 pricing starts at $20 per user per year.

Oblix also has addressed applying security and security policy enforcement across decentralized Web services environments with the addition of COREsv version 4 software. Using COREsv, enterprises can create, deploy and monitor security policies across geographically dispersed, Web-based service providers. Also new to COREsv version 4 is integration with the Tibco BusinessWorks Web services platform. COREsv is priced per server and starts at $75,000.

Tony Sanders, vice president of worldwide channel operations at Plumtree, San Francisco, said the benefits of being an Oblix partner make the difference when it comes to adding value to Plumtree solutions.

"It isn't just a sales relationship," Sanders said. "Premier partnerships like ours with Oblix have us engineering products together, marketing together, selling together, implementing together and supporting customers together."
