CRN Exclusive: CSPi Seeks New Channel Partners After Launching Security Product Line

CSPi is looking to onboard new security channel partners after launching a threat visibility and data capture product line.

Security vendor and solution provider CSPi is taking a deeper dive into the channel hoping to attract new partners with the launch of a new threat visibility and data capture product line.

"We've created a whole new product line to go into providing automated, rapid incidence response for cybersecurity that we're opening up to the channel," said Gary Southwell, general manager of CSPi's products division. "We’re one of the most generous providers as far as discounts in the industry, and back it up by having a complete program."

Lowell, Mass.-based CSPi is split into two divisions: High Performance Products, and Technology Solutions. CSPi Technology Solutions was named in CRN's 2017 Tech Elite 250 and ranks No. 233 on CRN's 2016 Solution Provider 500 list.

The company's High Performance Products division is launching its new Myricom nVoy Series 10-Gbit Packet Recorder and Myricom nVoy Series 1-to-100-Gbit Packet Broker for channel partners to sell. The products give security teams the ability to isolate and closely monitor access to important data such as personally identification information or intellectual property.

With the launch of the nVoy series, CSPi is seeking to onboard new solution providers to its Myricom Global Channel Partner Program, which it formed three years ago.

Specifically, the company is looking for security system integrators as well as large consultancy firms to join the program.

The partner program includes incentives, training, a newly revamped partner portal, technical support and a partner loaner program. "So for the loaner program, we'll actually give you loaner gear that a partner can put out initially into environments to get your fist customers going," said Southwell.

Brian Cooleen, vice president of sales for Trenton, N.J.-based solution provider Meadowgate Technologies, said CSPi has been critical for its federal customers.

"They're coming out with the right products – they're proven and reliable," said Cooleen. "What we like about [CSPi] is if we ask them to make changes, they do it for us. They're flexible and the margins are great."

CSPi has approximately 150 currently channel partners, but is looking to expand significantly in the US as well as globally, with offices in Germany and the U.K., with the new nVoy product line.

The nVoy Packet Broker makes it easy to aggregate, replicate, tag, strip, filter and load balance network traffic coming to or from any of its ports, said Southwell, while the nVoy Packet Recorder provides packet capture data recording and on-the-fly indexing when running any IDS applications or forensic tools.

"Our vision is to help these enterprises deal with security challenges and provide an easy path to market for our channel partners to actually get to those customers," said Southwell.

CSPi has been a publicly traded since 1982. It had more than $103.3 million in sales in 2016 and its market capitalization now sits at just over $42 million.
