FrontBridge Preps E-Mail, Messaging Managed Services

The new capabilities, available immediately, broaden FrontBridge's managed service portfolio across the board, enabling resellers to help customers comply with reporting regulations, according to Dan Nadir, FrontBridge's vice president of product management.

"This means that our resellers will enable their customers to comply with regulations by receiving their secure e-mail, antivirus and antispam solutions from one place, with one bill, and one tech-support line," Nadir said. "From a managed services perspective, there's nobody else in the business who can say they offer all of that," he said.

In order to procure the secure archiving service, Marina del Rey, Calif.-based FrontBridge acquired e-mail archiving vendor MessageRite for an undisclosed amount of cash. As Nadir explained, the managed e-mail archiving service will intercept all internal and external messages and store an indexed copy of each message in a secure, off-site message archive center.

Through a secure, Web-based interface, administrators and compliance officers can search and retrieve messages within the archive as needed.

FrontBridge's new encrypted desktop-to-desktop e-mail comes through a partnership with Palo Alto, Calif.-based security startup Voltage.

Resellers were excited about both new services. Michael Breamer, national account manager for Anitian Enterprise Security, Beaverton, Ore., said he expects to incorporate Voltage's new identity-based encryption-oriented service into his array immediately. "FrontBridge Secure e-mail finally makes desktop-to-desktop encryption accessible for even nontechnical audiences."
