RSA Security Introduces New Offerings Ahead Of RSAC 2020

RSA NetWitness ‘allows machine learning to detect, if you will, the needle in the needle stack… new network threats, or anomalous network behaviors, and show them to an analyst in a way that we never could before,’ Michael Adler of RSA Security tells CRN.

With the RSA Conference just around the corner, here’s a look at what you can expect from RSA Security, a global cybersecurity leader, starting Feb. 24:

RSA, Yubico Partnership

“I think what’s going to be most surprising at the show is that people are going to see RSA coming out with yet another authentication option [with Yubico],” said Jim Ducharme, vice president of identity, fraud and risk intelligence products at RSA Security.

The RSA, Yubico Partnership offers a joint solution where RSA SecurID Access can now be purchased along with FIDO Yubico authenticators, Ducharme told CRN. This, he said, will ensure enterprise-grade security and frictionless access for users.

RSA NetWitness Platform

“The scariest threat we’re seeing today is the continued development of network-based threats into the enterprise,” said Michael Adler, vice president of product and engineering for RSA NetWitness Suite at RSA Security.

“So you really have to have a program that you can mature overtime that allows you to drive advanced visibility, advanced insight based on the data you’re collecting, and the ability to remediate,” he added. Which is why “the RSA NetWitness Platform is an example of a tool that you could use to help solve all three of those problems.”

This year, RSA’s biggest advancement is in its network analytics module.

“We’ve driven out this new capability that allows machine learning to detect, if you will, the needle in the needle stack… and really be able to find new network threats, or anomalous network behaviors, and show them to an analyst in a way that we never could before,” Adler told CRN.

RSA Archer SaaS

RSA has now brought-to-market RSA Archer SaaS (software as a service) for customers looking to implement the RSA Archer Suite in the cloud. This provides partners with speed to manage risk along with flexibility and scalability needed to navigate digital transformation in the workplace.

“RSA itself is going through a digital transformation,” said David Walter, vice president of RSA Archer Suite at RSA Security. “We like to say, ‘If we want to help companies digitally transform, we ourselves have to transform,’ and this is a major step in that regard.”

Walker told CRN, organizations no longer want to manage their risk management software in order to put their resources to better use, “like managing risks instead of managing technology.”
