Ron Myers, worldwide channel chief at Palo Alto Networks, is promising partners total commitment from the company.
"We are 100 percent channel-centric and we will remain that way," said Myers, who previously worked in global channels at Polycom. "This organization is channel through and through."
Myers said Palo Alto will ride recent momentum from next-generation firewalls and overall networking security to drive growth in the channel.
"We run data like every other organization, and two years ago we had 697 actively producing channels, and now we have over 1,400," Myers said.
Tracy Pallas, vice president, channels and distribution at Palo Alto, said the company is looking for partners with security expertise and savvy technical sales divisions. Most importantly, Pallas said the company wants partners with a "stake in the game" and a dedicated executive team.
Myers said Palo Alto has doubled the number of channel business managers in the past 18 months and is still looking to invest in areas with current limited coverage, including distribution.
