Security Startup FinalCode Tackles The Big File-Sharing Problem With Help From The Channel

FinalCode COO Scott Gordon joins CRNtv to explain what makes the company's flagship product different from other security solutions when it comes to data leakage.

San Jose, Calif.-based security startup FinalCode continues to invest in its young channel program, focusing on security resellers and enterprise content management resellers.

FinalCode’s product secures encrypts files, controls usage, and allows for traceability and remote deletion.

’FinalCode is all about securing files wherever they go,’ said Chief Operating Officer Scott Gordon.

Former ForeScout CEO Gord Boyce founded the company, which has the goal of solving the issue of data leakage through file sharing. When a user shares a file, the recipient’s downloaded file may be manipulated and sent to others, meaning the original sender loses control of potentially sensitive information like intellectual property.

Through FinalCode’s solution, users can maintain control of shared files.

Gordon said the solution is an easy pitch for solution providers who want to re-engage and extend their data portfolios.

’This is a very logical extension to their investments in other data protection products,’ Gordan said.

’Now they can take this one more step further,’ he added.
