Sometimes, the best training doesn’t come inside a classroom or an office. Just ask ObserveIT CEO Mike McKee.

McKee began his career in the NHL with the Quebec Nordiques after being drafted out of Princeton University. Born in Toronto, McKee says hockey was second nature.

“Much like the military service is mandatory in Israel, playing hockey is mandatory in Canada,” he said.

McKee retired from hockey after suffering from concussions. He joined ObserveIT in 2016 after working at number of businesses, including Rapid7, PTC, Goldman Sachs and Broadview Associates.  And, while his office looks a little different these days from his time in the NHL, he says his competitive spirit remains in full force.

“Much like sports, I’ve always loved the challenge and competitive element of building a team,” he said. “Technology is an area that’s changing a lot.”

ObserveIT is a cybersecurity company founded in Israel with a focus on insider threat management. The company serves over 1,700 customers globally, partnering with Optiv, Guidepoint and HIC.
