“The idea of just business enablement and compliance and spend on identity as it’s seen today many times is a lower priority,” said Jeff Kukowski, CEO of SecureAuth, which is headquartered in Irvine, Calif. The firm’s platform enables continuously adaptive identity security by monitoring and responding to threats across identity lifecycles. It recently added machine learning and identity governance as part of its adaptive risk analysis.

“The investments in machine learning really help provide that next-level of authentication support in the platform that is easily used and trusted,” said Dawn-Marie Hutchinson, executive director at Optiv, a SecureAuth partner.

Research by SecureAuth finds that just 10 percent of the $100 billion spent on cybersecurity this year is allocated to identity security. This, as security breaches continue to rise with 81 percent of today’s breaches directly or indirectly identity-related.

“Part of the big opportunity is here is that identity security automation requires integration solutions,” said Kukowski discussing the opportunity for partners. “As channel partners look at not only access projects or governance projects or privileged account management projects, the idea and the opportunity is to bring those projects together in a more comprehensive solution for the customer.”

Former CIA Director John Brennan also appeared at INTERSECTION2018. For a deeper look at the event, watch the above video.
