Configurations based on Intel's Enterprise Blade Server utilize a single architecture that can merge servers, storage, network connectivity, power and cooling. Using a Brocade chip for advanced SAN switching, the Brocade device features Brocade Inter-Switch Link (ISL) Trunking, Advanced Performance Monitoring, Secure Fabric OS, and hot code activation.
"The demand for bladed servers is outpacing traditional server growth," said Tom Buiocchi, Brocade's vice president of worldwide marketing, in a statement.
Brocade and Intel said the new SAN switch modules are available now.
