Emulex Channel Sales Soar, Company Offers New Promo
The company's "Sell Emulex HBAs and Win" promotion allows solution providers to earn 1 to 3 points for each adapter they acquire from an authorized distributor through Jan. 31, said Bob Sparanese, senior marketing manager of worldwide channels at Emulex, Costa Mesa, Calif.
Those points can be exchanged for prizes such as a large-screen TV, an HDTV monitor and a home theater entertainment center.
Each point also qualifies a partner for a chance at a grand prize of an expenses-paid trip to the Toshiba Senior Classic golf tournament to be held in Southern California in February, Sparanese said.
Authorized distributors include Tech Data, Bell Microproducts, TidalWire and Info X.
Emulex is putting on the promotion to celebrate a big jump in channel sales of the adapters over the past year, Sparanese said.
"This promotion is our way of rewarding our resellers," he said.
The channel now accounts for about 43 percent of the company's overall revenue, he said. Channel revenue rose 68 percent in the last fiscal quarter compared with the same quarter a year ago, said Sparanese.
