Tech Data has signed a deal to distribute Fujitsu Eternus storage systems, marking the first time the products are available through two-tier distribution, according to Tech Data.
The Fujitsu Eternus2000, Eternus4000 and Eternus8000 SAN systems are targeted toward, small, midsize and enterprise customers and help enable storage consolidation, and data backup, replication, protection and recovery, according to Tech Data. The product line also provides encryption native to the storage disk, automated device failure detection and resolution, component redundancy, hot swap capabilities, disk-to-disk archiving and remote replication. The Eternus8000 offers more than 1 petabyte of storage and more advanced management tools, according to the distributor.
The line is available through Tech Data's Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) division.
"VARs are seeing incredible demand for storage among businesses, organizations, government agencies and educational institutions nationwide," said Pete Peterson, senior vice president and general manager of the AIS division, in a statement. "The most efficient way to store, manage and protect all that information is by utilizing innovative, high-end SAN solutions like the Fujitsu Eternus storage systems. Tech Data's AIS Division was established to help VARs capitalize on that storage demand by providing them with access to a broad product offering backed by dedicated solutions sales support and technical teams."
Tech Data will offer dedicated sales, systems engineering and product management resources, backed by Fujitsu, to solution providers. In addition, the companies plan to develop a series of VAR recruitment campaigns and enablement initiatives. Tech Data will help solution providers with training and authorization requirements to sell Eternus products.
