GlassHouse Acquires The Storage Group
It is the third acquisition by GlassHouse this month. It acquired two U.K.-based solution providers, Source Consulting and Sagitta Performance Systems, earlier this month.
GlassHouse, Framingham, Mass., is a large independent storage solution provider that does not offer hardware from specific vendors. Instead, it recommends solutions based on enterprise customers' specific needs, from strategy through implementation, operations, and customer support.
The Storage Group, San Diego, is similar, but on a smaller scale. However, the firm differs from its peers in that it also serves as an analyst and consultant to vendors and end-user customers.
W. Curtis Preston, president of The Storage Group, is an author and commonly-seen speaker at storage industry events, including the StorageWorld Conference currently in operation in Long Beach, Calif. He is slated to become vice president of service development at GlassHouse, reporting to company's CTO.
"GlassHouse has become the place where the best minds in the industry are coming together," said Mark Shirman, president and CEO of GlassHouse, in a statement. "Our clients will benefit from the addition of Curtis to our strong team of technical experts. His experience in designing and implementing complex backup and storage solutions further extends our ability to deliver strategy, implementation and operational services to our clients."
Terms of the deal were not released. It is expected to close in July.
