StorageCraft's New Storage Products Create $15 Billion Partner Opportunity

StorageCraft is busting the total addressable market wide open for channel partners in one of its biggest product launches in years with its new converged data platform OneXafe and next-generation protection suite ShadowXafe.

"We've really expanded the market opportunity for our partners," said Marvin Blough, vice president of worldwide sales for StorageCraft, in an interview with CRN at XChange 2018. "The backup and recovery business is maybe a $1 billion business. When you start adding in storage, and adding in cloud, and adding in other opportunities, you've now taken that available market to more like a $15 billion available market. So we think it allows our partners to address a much bigger market and allows them to grow with their customers."

OneXafe is specifically designed for the large SMB and midsize markets, combining scale-out storage with data protection for both physical and virtualized environments. The platform is based on StorageCraft's legacy data protection technology but also injected with innovation the company gained through its 2017 acquisition of Exablox.

"OneXafe [allows] you to actually have secondary storage highly available with data recovery and data protection in it," said Blough. "In conjunction with our ShadowProtect product , you now have virtual, physical, you've got primary and secondary storage, you've got data protection built into it and you have one-click recovery or storage recovery to the cloud."

ShadowXafe is the vendor's new data protection software suite that targets virtualized servers. The offering ensures SLA-driven data protection with one-click orchestration that works with both physical and virtual machines.

ShadowXafe also has virtual recovery that can be both agent-based or host-based, according to Blough.

"So we now can have backup and recovery into virtually any environment that you have," he said. "What it allows [partners] to do is now cover a customer's entire environment and manage all of that from one location or one pane of glass."

Draper, Utah-based StorageCraft is a 100 percent channel focused vendor and received a 5-star rating in CRN's 2018 Partner Program Guide.
