Dell Launches Studio Notebook Line

The Studio notebooks, capable of running Intel Core 2 Duo processors and shipping with Windows Vista, sit between Round Rock, Tex.-based Dell's lower-end Inspiron notebook line and its high-end XPS line.

Dell's Studio 15 notebook, with a 15.4-inch high definition widescreen and the Studio 14, with a 17-inch high-def widescreen display, will be available with hard drives with up to 320 GB and users have the option to configure them with Blu-Ray or DVD recording drives.

The notebooks are available in seven colors: Jet Black, Midnight Blue, Plum Purple, Ruby Red, Flamingo Pink, Spring Green, Tangerine Orange and Graphite Gray with blue, red, pink or black trim.

Wireless networking via 802.11 b/g is standard on the products, but users can opt for 802.11 n.

The Studio 15 line weighs in at 6.11 pounds, but configuration and options can increase the weight. The Studio 17 starts at 7.87 pounds.

The Studio 15 starts at $799 and the Studio 17 starts at $999 and both are available through Dell's web site and in retail stores.
