WATCH: Mindtree’s Venu Lambu On How The Firm Is Driving Digital Transformation

With nearly 30 years of experience in the channel, Venu Lambu talks with CRNtv about his recent move to join Mindtree, a global technology consulting and IT services firm, as president and executive director of global markets to lead the company in helping enterprises run their business in the cloud.

Before making the move, Lambu previously served as president of global markets at L&T Technology Services, an India-based systems integrator, as well as at Cognizant for a little over six years, most recently as senior vice president and global markets head.

What attracted you to make the jump to Mindtree?

It’s an exciting company. It’s a company with a lot of energy, great talent and most importantly with a single-minded mission about driving digital transformation for our customers.

And it’s more evident during this crisis how digital transformation has come to the rescue of the economy, of businesses, of enterprises, and even the well being of larger communities and such. So, there’s a bigger purpose, a larger agenda and that’s they reason why I joined here.

What about your background and personal experience will lend to establishing growth at Mindtree?

You know the biggest asset I bring personally is a very deep customer-centricity. I’m very sensitive to the customer’s requirement. I have a high appetite at building this to listen to customers and actually help them, and solve problems they expect Mindtree to solve.

And of course, you’re as successful as the team that you have with you. I’m confident that the team that’s there with us will deliver client expectations.

What are you seeing now with digital transformation?

It’s not just about having a nice thing to have as part of your strategy framework, it is the strategy, it is the business model and we’re seeing that across all industry sectors. Whether it’s about how you interact with your customers at the front end, bringing the experiences to the customers, or connecting the supply chain at the back end, or even to make employees more productive and more collaborating in working remotely.

So in each of the aspects of the business, digital places a very critical role.
