Level 3 Communications Timeline

March 1998:

May 2000: Level 3 subsidiary PKS Information Services, an ASP, changes its name to iStructure and debuts at No. 66 on the 2001 VARBusiness 500 list.

February 2002: Level 3 Communications acquires Corporate Software (No. 55 in 2002) for $89 million.

May 2002: Level 3 Communications acquires Software Spectrum (No. 47) for $122 million. Level 3 merges Software Spectrum's operations with its Corporate Software division, which will operate as a subsidiary under the name Software Spectrum.

November 2002: Level 3 Communications acquires Genuity, which filed for Chapter 11 the same day, for $242 million. A few months later, Level 3 decides to close down Genuity's hosting business and signs an agreement with Computer Sciences Corp. to move the business to the systems integrator.
