Doing Business Overseas With Quintum
Quintum Technologies recently released the Tenor MultiPath Switch AXT4800. The FXO gateway provides all the features required for pr-paid calling card applications such as built-in IVR (Interactive Voice Response) and industry-standard RADIUS interface for Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA)—all in conjunction with a billing server. Solution providers who implement the device can offer attractive termination rates for both domestic and international long distance calling to connect enterprise and call center customers directly to their networks by bypassing local operators and toll charges.
The switch is a 48-port gateway with the ability to support more channels in a single 1U unit for higher density in less rack space. The company claims the AXT4800 provides a higher port density in one 1U high unit at a lower cost per port than any other vendor. It also enables more channels to be supported on a single IP address in countries where availability or cost of multiple IP addresses is an issue. The AXT4800 offers solution providers a high-density platform for use in countries where analog lines are widely used.
It is built on the company&'s own MultiPath design, which integrates features such as call processing, routing and switching within the gateway. The intelligence of the unit allows the AXT4800 to perform functions typically required to be performed by other network devices when using a traditional VoIP gateway.
The company channel structure is comprised of two levels, which are based on revenue. Quintum offers its partners the opportunity to realize margins between 30 percent and 40 percent.
The Tenor MultiPath Switch is priced at $6,500.
