10 Products You've Got To Check Out At Oracle OpenWorld
You've Gotta See This...
All eyes will be on Larry Ellison & Co. at Oracle OpenWorld next week as the company unveils its long-awaited Fusion applications, new high-performance systems combining Sun hardware and Oracle software, and other new products. But attendees shouldn't ignore the new products and services being shown at the conference by hundreds of service and solution providers, ISVs and other Oracle partners.
The following are 10 that we think, in our humble opinion, are definitely worth checking out.
Application Security
Application Security will be showing off DbProtect 6.2, a new release of the database security, risk and compliance software with the capability for information security analysts, business managers and database administrators to audit user entitlements in enterprise database environments and significantly reduce time spent on the process.
The company also will be showing off new features in its AppDetectivePro 7 system, including the new Work Plan Manager, new custom audit questionnaires and improved reporting functionality.
BlackLine Systems
BlackLine will be demonstrating release 5.2 of its financial application suite with new side-by-side reconciliation, rules-based administration, and document hyperlinks features. The software also provides an Outlook-style visual tasks calendar and the ability to create an Account Certification Checklist to ensure that all account reconciliation tasks are complete.
F5 Networks
F5 will be showing its Application Ready Solution for Oracle Database technologies that integrates F5's BIG-IP product line with the Oracle database. The new offering helps IT administrators monitor database server performance and manage application-to-database connections.
And through integration with Oracle Streams, Data Guard and Recovery Manager software, the BIG-IP WAN Optimization Module reduces the amount of data transmitted through a WAN during data replication tasks.
iCentera
iCentera will be debuting a new release of its on-demand sales enablement application with a new version of the Sales Advisor search engine for sales and channel sales teams. Sales Advisor 2.0 offers expanded content search, more configuration options and predictive word search.

Informatica will be demonstrating the latest release of its on-demand data integration software, Informatica Cloud Fall 2010. The software will include a new Web site, Trust.Informatica.Cloud.com, that provides information about the performance and availability status of the multi-tenant service.
Also new in the software are advanced query options for retrieving data from Salesforce.com CRM and Force.com systems, and enhanced notification features for data replication, synchronization and quality tasks. The new release also has expanded connectivity to SAP, Microsoft SQL Server 2008, FTP and Web services systems.

The product is Quest's first foray into the Eclipse software market.

TOA Technologies will be providing a preview of upcoming integration between its workforce management software and Oracle’s CRM On Demand Solution. That will allow users of the two applications to integrate mobile workforce capacity management (TOA’s ETAdirect solution) into their call center systems (Oracle’s Contact On Demand) to efficiently and accurately schedule service appointments.
Through Oracle and TOA, customers can seamlessly manage the entire customer appointment process – from inbound calls to customer service reps, through scheduling mobile employees, completing the appointment and gathering customer feedback. The partnership will maximize workforce capacity, streamline operations, create service consistency, improve the end customer’s experience and reduce operational expenses.

The latest release offers major improvements to the software's reporting capabilities and user interface, making it easier for business users and analysts to collaborate on data quality initiatives.
