The 5 Top SaaS Companies To Watch Right Now

A Software-Centric World

The world has become increasingly cloud-friendly, and with that, the Software as a Service (SaaS) model has risen in popularity in both the consumer world (think Netflix) as well as in the business arena, with new SaaS companies popping up seemingly every day.

As users demand greater flexibility and ease of use, solution providers must familiarize themselves with this particular breed of cloud player.

Here are five hot SaaS providers that partners should keep an eye on right now.

Assurance Software

Assurance Software spun out of its parent company, Sungard Availability Services, in May when Sungard sold its Assurance Business Continuity Management Planning (BCMP) software business to private equity investor Resurgens Technology Partners.

Today, Assurance Software helps businesses develop a continuity management strategy, including business impact analysis, incident management, disaster recovery planning and reporting, and emergency notification management though its multitenant SaaS solution.

CloudScale 365

CloudScale365 is a VAR-turned-SaaS provider. The Nashville, Tenn.-based company today provides managed services, cloud services, and software development services, and has a robust channel program of its own.

The newly-minted SaaS provider entered the SaaS market in 2017 after developing its cloud-based FuturTrak case management software aimed at a niche market -- children’s advocacy case management.

DialPad

Cloud-based communications provider DialPad is on a mission to turn telephony into a software function. The SaaS provider today offers HD voice, HD video, group messaging, SMS, MMS, conferencing and screen sharing.

DialPad, whose cloud partners include Google Cloud Platform, announced a $50 million Series D investment in July, which the company will use to expand its business communications platform.

Salesforce

SaaS giant and industry stalwart Salesforce continues to make moves in the market to prove itself as a leader.

Salesforce, headquartered in San Francisco, acquired AI software provider Datorama for a reported $800 million earlier this month to boost its digital marketing strategy. The Datorama deal follows Salesforce's acquisition of MuleSoft for $6.5 billion in March.

ServiceNow

ServiceNow, Inc., a SaaS company headquartered in Santa Clara, California, offers enterprise automation solutions. The company in April acquired fellow SaaS startup VendorHawk for its technology that optimizes customer SaaS usage and helps with customers' digital transformation initiatives. ServiceNow has integrated VendorHawk's technology into its flagship Now Platform.

ServiceNow was named a leader in research firm Gartner's Magic Quadrant report for integrated risk management this month.
