Business analytics and big data management continue to be a growth area for the channel with customers demanding software, services and expertise in implementing and using business intelligence technology to better understand their customers and improve their operational performance.

But business analytics projects often fail for a variety of reasons. In a new report, market research firm Gartner has identified several trends that create new potential points of failure for these projects and offers recommendations for how to mitigate them.

While the advice is geared toward IT executives and managers who are responsible for the success of business intelligence initiatives, many companies and organizations rely heavily on their solution providers—not just for designing and building analytics systems, but also providing expertise in establishing analytical processes and outcomes. So solution providers should take note.
