Leveraging Big Data For Competitive Advantage

Fast-growing Splunk develops software used to collect and index machine-generated data for a range of operational and analytical applications, primarily within IT, security and App/Dev operations.

But Splunk executives argue that just about every department and organization throughout a business should be making more use of operational data to better understand what’s happening both within and outside a company, a vision that Splunk calls “Data-to-Everything.”

That vision, and the role of Splunk’s channel partners in making it happen, were among the topics Splunk CEO Doug Merritt discussed in an interview with CRN at the company’s recent Splunk .conf19 customer and partner conference in Las Vegas. The following is an edited version of the interview.
