Learning Doesn’t Need To Take A Day Off

Even in isolation, executives are watching trends.

One trend that Tech Data’s VP of Security Solutions Alex Ryals sees is an increase in learning at home with the help of modules such as those developed by RangeForce. The company recently announced that Tech Data had added the learning solution to its security line card. The addition could not have come at a better time, Ryals said.

“People have more time on their hands. You don’t have a commute to work. You don’t have to ride on the train or whatever, so there’s a lot more opportunity for reading online. We’ve upped our game. Things like Rangeforce are a great addition.”

Ryals said the solution rounds out the other security training software options that are offered by Tech Data.

“I view my role as needing to provide a broad portfolio of different ways people can learn cyber skills,” he said. “I think everyone would agree we are woefully under prepared as a country around cybersecurity skills. There are not enough people who can do a penetration test or help companies set up their networks properly.”

Ryals also talked about how Tech Data is helping its partners manage through the coronavirus pandemic, and the trends that he is seeing from his seat in distribution.
